National Women's Party
October 8, 2020 the National Women’s Party announced the gifting of their historic collections to the Library of Congress and National Park Service on the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment. In preparation for the transfer of collections to two federal entities, WJ&A was hired to support the collections preparation. WJ&A worked with the NWP for close to 20 years, conducting environmental analysis, supporting collections care and preservation, and assisting in the processing and transferring of the historic collections. Project Initiation
Wendy Jessup and Associates, Inc. and The National Women’s Party have shared a working relationship for almost 20 years. WJ&A completed Environmental Improvements Plans and a number Collections Management Services for the NWP. In 2019, the WJ&A Team was hired as a collections management consultant for the transfer of the collections to the Library of Congress and National Park Service – a gift that would coincide with the centennial anniversary of the 19th Amendment.

Initial project scope of the WJ&A consultants included:

Identifying and organizing title (proof of ownership) and provenance (history) documentation for all accessioned objects

Collecting 10+ years of environmental data for the historic house exhibit and collections storage spaces

Supporting project management efforts for an effective transfer of collections by meeting documentation and organization standards for collections care
